We finally managed to get into one of the onsite restaurants. We had dinner this evening at La Luna Steakhouse. You do not have to pay at the restraints but you do need a reservation and it can take days to be able to get in. Regardless of the wait it was a great experience. Today was spent on the resort, not the beach, just in and around the resort grounds. We took the time to walk the grounds some more and see the wildlife up a little closer. There are quite a variety of birds living on the grounds. The ones we recognize are peacocks, pigeons, geese, flamingos and cranes. There are several species that we do not recognize as well. It didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves (although the hummingbird-sized cockroach by our cottage door almost did), but reminded me that it's best to take it slow with a travel-newbie. One day we'll laugh about Dave puking in the turtle pond, thus giving the little snappers the buffet of a lifetime, but even now (March 2015) it's a sore subject. On our next adventure together, we'll be better prepared.
