Swine flu keeps tourists away from Riviera Maya

... lots of iguanas, Mayan “ruins” and beautiful landscaping. The resort was clean and the grounds were always being kept up by the staff.

Overall travel agent impression

I would have full confidence recommending this resort to qualified clients. Those who would enjoy this resort, I feel would be families with younger kids and multi generational groups, couples and honeymooners. The property also has onsite wedding coordinators ...

Marvelous Mexico

... We parted ways and the two of us headed to San Cristobal where we arrived to freezing cold weather, which we were not prepared for, and a cold and very noisy hostel. We have however, managed to relax here. The weather improved and we have walked around the pretty town and seen the cathedral, some art and the ruins at Palenque - amazing! So we´ve been busy and we intend to enjoy our last week of freedom before we fly home. See you soon! J & F

... through with great enthusiasm. While riding the crest of the wave created on the walls of La Casa by Robbie and Amalia (see the blog entry for that story in detail), we found ourselves in Chico meeting with our Chico contention of "Los Amigos de La Casa de Los Ninos" to dream up what was next. Many things came from that meeting.......i.e. Creating the Mural in Rosedale School and rekindling the tile memorial ...

Cuyutlán- Some Like it Remote and Memories of Hell

... of nowhere. A lady waiting to get on our bus assured us that there were hotels just two blocks toward the beach. That seemed to lift our spirits. The main street turned out to be exceptional in several aspects. Our first surprise was the exceptionally smooth stamped concrete surface we found on main street. It was extremely friendly to the small wheels on our suitcases. In most other towns/cities we would ...

... out in the street. More Jewelry was made after the inspiration of Sandy, Carol and Cheryl last month. Rosa made drop earings of many various colors for her christmas gifts and she was soon teaching others her designs. Many of the kids wanted to use shells and rocks for their jewelry. We were able to drill holes in some of the shells with a "cool" little tool that Sandy brought us. We also got really creative with brass wire....wrapping the stones and ...

The symbols of the Altar for Dia de los Muertos

... Elements are incorporated according to the indigenous beliefs. EARTH is represented by symbols of the land, aroma and the harvest season. Sand is spread in front of the alter to represent the earth. Sand was brought in to define the walkway that lead the way to the altar. Incense, traditionally Copal which is made of tree resin,is burned to draw the souls to the altar. The aroma and smokey tendrils rise like spirits in the night further sweetening the air on Muertos. Clay ...
