Two short months ago I was living in the town that looks of a heel (Kimmirut) in the far far away Arctic, falling through snow taller than my knees, dreaming of the perfect Italian experience not knowing where and if it would come. We had little intentions of actually making it too much further south in Italy than Amalfi when we set out on this journey but after asking several Italians where to go and all of them staying Puglia (the region in the heel of ...

Today we travelled to Lecce, an hour away from Cisternino, along the highway past the beaches and it was very hot today from morning till about six pm so I took my togs just in case! Wanted to get into La Cantina but booked ...

Fast sail all the way over to Otranto and even had the fun of Dolphins playing at the helm. Busy shipping lanes overnight kept us all on our toes and Eric plenty of time to practise his lights. Winds were so favourable we headed on South to M.Saint Di Leuca still arriving by 3pm in time for a cocktail on shore before getting Ellis already for next early departure ...

    The Last Day of Biking

... wood-oven pizzas. The required stop for a gelato dessert then back to the hotel for an early bedtime in preparation for our 6:30 departure for our flight to Bologna and the start of our second week, in Tuscany. We can't say enough about the quality of the GiroLibero tour and would definitely recommend the outfit to others. The bikes were perfect for the tour, 27 speed hybrids that were well-maintained and easily adjustable. The hotels ...
