A day at Mont Tremblant, Quebec

... down the mountain, having just climbed it.

In the gondola, again, the view was enjoyed and it proved to be exciting. It took a good 8 to 10 minutes. Once we got out of it, we proceeded walking around the place and do some window shopping. We spoiled ourselves by buying a Beavertail. It is pastry made to look just like a beaver tail with sugar and cinnamon on it. It was delicious. Yummm!

Mont Tremblant.

Just a quick blog about Mont Tremblant!

I've never been anywhere like the village of Mont Tremblant before. It's some weirdly clean, very tourist orientated, colourful collection of shops and facilities, on the mountain, surrounded by some of the amazing Canadian scenery. There is a relaxed atmosphere, probably because most people there are on holiday. When we went there was a music/arts festival ...

Oh it's a jolly holiday......in Joliette!

... sitting by a lake to eat them. At the lake we saw people kayaking, and it looked like a lot of fun, so we (well, Tom) asked some people where to find the kayaks and they pointed us in the right direction.

Ohh it was amazing!! The lakes in Mont Tremblant were sooo nice, surrounded by mountains and trees, with no big roads or buildings so it was really peaceful.
Tom and Theo got a 2 person kayak, Katie went in one on her own, and ...

Nobody Told Me About The Hills.

... out and the skiing became a pleasure. Even when at one stage a sudden wind whipped up a mini-blizzard whilst we were halfway across a plateau that was a challenge not a disincentive.

The finish line at the checkpoint arrived almost too soon and upon checking the time I found that we’d traversed the 14.6 Km in less than three and a half hours and that was with taking several time-outs for pics. On the previous day when I’d arrived at the checkpoint ...

Doucement

... and go on a whale cruise. We saw a few whales, some seals, and a few dolphins. It was amazing. It's too cool knowing that 5 minutes from my house, I have access to such an impressive body of water. We were on the boats for 3 1/2 hours, and the last hour was spent doing what I call `white water rafting high speed'... without the rapids, and the rafts. It was crazy and so much fun!!! I almost fell off the zodiak 4 times. Tomorrow work starts. I hope you all enjoy my pictures. Liz

Short update

... I head back to Oakland. My French is getting sloppy. At first I was eager to learn but Ive run out of motivation. I can say a few things but not enough to carry a conversation. I can understand some things but most of the time it just sounds like noise coming from peoples mouths, haha! I hope you are all well and good. Please keep the emails coming. I love hearing from all of you. love Kat
