Hi - Ian again. A quiet day in Mahon. Started with a trip around the harbour on a typical glass bottom boat. The highlight was a visit to Isle de Rei in the middle of the harbour. Learnt a lot about the history of Menorca and all the visitors / occupiers over the last 300 years - well worth a visit if you are ever on Menorca. The harbour ...
... to a beautiful mansion on the seafront with truely great views. As well as a great lunch Peter was well read in the history of Mahon harbour.
We have been dropped back to our lovely dry boat, but still too hot to stay onboard during the day so now in a bar preparing for some tourism tomorrow.

Active day on the boat today although sailing miles much reduced - John cleaned and dried a pretty wet boat after yesterday's sail. Hard work aside we had time for a pleasant breakfast, lunch and now having lamb/sea bass for supper. Mahon an interesting town - quieter today as now entering the low season - maybe the marina prices will drop. Walked up into the old town before food looking at the sights! but now back on the waterside for food. Tomorrow may be even less active.
... in Mahon a little bit wet but in time for a good late lunch of Dorada. Found a good mooring in marina Mahon - pretty much in the centre of all action. Remnants of a classic boat racing event - good to see some excellent designs. Monday a bit if boat servicing and r& r ready for some more action. ...
Left cuidella at the crack of dawn ok 11am into a very pleasant easterly ish! wind. Lunch bought in the morning so ok for food. Good sail but decided to stop at Galdana for a swim and chill out. At least we can reach Mahon tomorrow if we want to and leave early. At anchor so likely to be up early. Galdana quite busy so lots to watch. I helmed all the way whilst John read his book ...
