So I handed Jerry a little thank you and told him I may ask his advice again and I was on my own in my lovely comfortable room. Photo time! ...

... it should have as the driver was willing to stop for beers and toilet breaks (it took about an hour for a 35km trip). The slow drive was worth it as we could take in a lot more of the scenery and locals. What an eye opener, the main town parts were a bit crowded, and dirty. There were shacks and lots of rubbish, buildings that seemed half built or half torn down, we weren't sure. Other than this the natural landscape of ocean and tropical plants was beautiful. This is still an ...

Today Greg and I woke up to bongo beats and fresh squeezed juice. Another perfect day in Jamaica. After breakfast we decided to do some kayaking around the bay. The air was crisp and the water clear for ever, we paddled around until our arms were done and settled back on the sand in front of the hotel. Some men were entertaining the crowd with box beat drums and flutes while the usual touts ...

Staying here was a bad choice :(

    from anonymous

Well, just got back from a week at Hedo II, and I must say that for the first time in 5 visits to Jamaica(all within the last 16 months) I was actaully happy to leave. Here are the good and bad:The good - the guests were really fun and we made great friends, the entertainment workers are really fun and could motivate anyone, Munahana had great foodThe Bad - we were pressured on more than one occasion to tip employees on this no tipping allowed resort, the bartenders in the main bar (textile side) were very rude and often slow to serve even when there were no other people waiting (we were denied a hummingbird one night at about 9:00Pm becuase the man said he had just cleaned the blender so we should order a beer instead), when checking into our room, we found about 500 ants in the second bed (yuk!!!) and were told the resort was at full capacity so they would change the sheets and spray for bugs but could not give us a diffrent room, this was at 1:00 in the afternoon. I hate bugs, and I told them there was no way. If we could not get another room, I would go stay somewhere else, they gave us a new room but were very rude about it and made me feel bad for making them rearrange us. Later that day I found out they were actaully less than 50% capacity, nice :( Other than that, there was one major factor that I disliked the most of anything, and that was safety. Plain and simple I did not feel safe in this resort. Many of the groundskeepers were in a bad mood and some made comments towards my girlfriend that would get you slapped or worse in a regualr US city.Once we realized that Hedo II was not for us I asked for a tour of Grand Lido Negril to see about going there for our next trip. we were told that tours were available at 10:00 and 3:00. we went at 10:00 and were told it was 10:05 so we need to come back at 3:00. we came at 3:00 and were told they were too busy to give us a tour so we would need to try again the next day at 10:00 (we would be home by then) Oh well I guess they didn't want my futurehave not have a bad word to say until hedo, I am not a complaining kind of person. I did not go to hedo to stay in a luxury hotel with 5 star food, so please don't assume I hadn't checked up about what we were getting into. The service and level and way we were treated here is unacceptable. I would not suggest this resort. I will go back to Sandals next time where I know it is safe, clean and the people who work there will be friendly to us. Aaron

    Excellent for couples!

    from anonymous

I would definitely recommend couples to go to Hedo if they want to shake up and re-vitalize their love life. One word of caution though: be prepared and read various trip reports, discuss your limits and whatever you do, do it with the full agreement with your spouse. It is not true when some people say that the resort is intended for swingers. We are not swingers and consider ourselves quite conservative couple. Beach, food, and rooms could be better, but no other resort can offer so much fun and entertainment. At other resorts we have visited, there isn't much to do after 10PM. At Hedo, we were going to sleep at around 4AM.

    Swingers, voyeurs and the uninformed

    from murrrrr

From a recent visit to Hedo on a guest pass, it appears nothing has changed at Hedo. It was just sadder. If you've never been to Hedo, do your research - you will find old swingers and voyeurs, poorly maintained rooms, mediocre food and service and a poor beach compared to others in the area. What happens at Hedo stays at Hedo is what folks say - ask questions, do some research! Find out why there is high staff turn over, why the shops are leaving the property, why you can't get your basic requests met for days on end. Why the staff and management allow open sex on the property 24/7? Why if its such a paradise, its only 1/2 full in high season. Maybe its because they drove off regulars who have had it with bad, dirty and low class.

    Welcome home

    from anonymous

There is no other resort like it any where ! At hedo you can do whatever you want and be dressed or undressed as much as you wish. The key is to remember what happens at hedo stays at hedo so enjoy yourself !!!!Hey I have been back home to hedo 31 times and there are others with more visits than that.

    Wow!!!

    from anonymous

This was the most outragous vacation my husband and I have went on. There is definitely an overlap of prude and nude (we are prudes). Shocking, yes. Hilarious, yes. Fun, yes. Will we go back, no. A bit overwhelming. The best part of Hedo 2 is Dave in Veronicas (piano bar). He his hilarious! You can definitely do what you want to do at this resort. I prefer Grand Lido Negril.

    Not for the narrow-minded

    from anonymous

The swinging reputation is over-rated, but it is there if you want it. This is THE adult vacation spot in the world. The theme parties are great, the food is wonderful, the employees are friendly, the pools and hot tubs are fun. People who stay on the Nude Beach side come back again and again, but for those less adventurous who use the prude beach, one time may be their last. The facilities and beaches are average, but that does not deminish the overall rating if you are looking for fun like you cannot have at home. This resort is not for prudes or the narrow-minded, and its okay if they do not want to go. It was not created for that 95% of the population. My wife and I are not swingers, and we are going back for the 12th time in 10 years in July. It is a FUN PLACE!

Hedo II, open minded couples only

    from anonymous

We stayed at Hedo II March 2 - 9th, 2002. This resort is not for the prudish or couples who are easily offended. Anything goes and around the nude hot tub at night XXX is all I can say. We had a blast there since we enjoy the alternative lifestyle. The week we went was a lifestyle week and was hosting the Ms. No Swim Suit Contest. The rooms are standard Motel 6 type rooms without a TV. Only a small boom box for playing CD's or listening to Bob Marley 24 hrs. a day. The food was average at the buffett, very good at the Italian rest. and the Japanese style grille was very good also. We ate all our lunches at Robert's poolside grille. Great sandwiches and fries. The beach is very nice on the prude side. Beach on the nude side has a lot of seaweed near shore. Activities and entertainment crew are top notch and always exciting. The nude pool has a great swim up bar and you can bring your own 32 ounce glasses and have the bartender fill them for you. Great resort to visit if you have the right relationship and openminded. DO NOT force you spouse to go and expect a wild time. We witnesed a few relationships on the rocks there from husbands tricking their wives into going then acting like they knew nothing about the resort.

    Heed-onism

    from Papaya9

This place was full of trashy, sleazeball swingers from NY/NJ when we were there. Very disappointing in this aspect, otherwise its a nice place. If you are upscale, look at the Grand Lido or The caves. This spot is only good if you have no standards and just want to get down with some un-fit 40 somethings.

Hedonism II - Party atmosphere but not for the timid

    from anonymous

I must start out this review with a WARNING!!!! Hedonism is not for the timid!!!! There is constant nudity. When I first made my travel arrangements I did not know that there would be Swingers at the resort!!! Even though I didn't engage in these activities - it didn't bother me too much. Hedonism is an ALL OUT PARTY!!! If you are looking for total ABANDONMENT this is the place for you. Anything goes in Hedonism. All of your food and beverages are included in one low price. The resort is kept very maintained. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The food is plentiful and tasty. The resort offers two theme nights, Toga Night and Lingerie Night!! Very RISQUE! They will not let you come into the club during the lingerie night, unless you are in lingerie, pajamas, underwear or NAKED!!! My advice is to bring your nicest pajamas and make yourself a toga. If you are interested in exercise there is a small open aired gym facility. There is two sides of the beach. The first side is the PRUDE SIDE and the second THE NUDE BEACH!!!! Although , I had a good time!!! This Hedonistic lifestyle isn't for me!! I don't believe I will return again. If you are looking for a vacation to live out your wildest fantasies - this would be the place for you. The resort is not intended for monogamous couples!!!!!!!!

    HEAVEN
