... of the Sinai Peninsula next to the Red Sea, and surrounded by desert Its population is approximately 35,000, and is made up of about 7000 km of land.
We stayed at the Marriot Hotel. Our Hotel was on the mountainside and the better half was on the beach side. Crossing to the beach meant a 5 minute walk over a busy highway with traffic police slowing down the traffic to allow tourists to cross.
... along the Nile on the way home. This was going to add at least an hour to our drive, making us arrive back at the ship long after it was supposed to have sailed. The drivers were quite upset about that, guns were brandished, and soon the drivers' licenses were confiscated, a police escort joined us, and we set off up the Nile. It was actually very interesting because we travelled through towns and cities all along it, seeing the real people walking around, living their normal ...
... out after a short while... funnily enough, the Scottish boy wrapped up in a tightly buttoned up long-sleeved shirt is absolutely loving the swim and the cold.
For the rest of the day and the following, there is a random pattern of sun (or shade) baking, snorkelling, dozing, eating, napping and drinking. Pretty idyllic really.

Off to the club Bataya. I figure I have an hour before I have to head back and let him know as long as he plunks me into the right cab/bus, I am more than happy to depart from him so he can go and continue to party as I know he normally stays out all night, most nights. How he does this, I have no idea.
