... br> On Thursday morning we rejoiced in the luxury of sleeping in and eating breakfast after the tour groups left the hotel.

Then we walked the 4.5 km along the seafront to the old city of Rhodes. On the edges of the ancient building there is a very nice shopping area and we took some time to browse in the shops before we walked in the old town finding a lovely restaurant at the end of a ...

          Mosquitos and scorpions

Blue skies, no clouds and three mosquito bites. What a way to wake up. But I would rather wake up to a mosquito bite than being bitten by a scorpion. We killed a second one last night. Not quite an animal you want to have closer contact with. Karsten made menemen for breakfast and we were indecisive what we wanted to do. First we ...

Tomorrow I fly from Rhodes to Athens and into the madness of city life... I wonder if it can handle ...

Had a wonderful afternoon in the big city. Checked into our hotel, near both the port and the old city. Walked through Freedom Gate into the old city and had a delicious lunch at a place Mikhali Melenos had recommended. After lunch, Helen & Shelley went to the ...

... good and I resisted. I also saw a car crash where the two people got out their cars shouted at each other then got back in and drove off. There seem to be no car parks here or parking tickets as zebra crossings, corners, roundabouts and pavements are a free for all. I went into the archaeological centre and me at six euro it was steal. Now I'm not one to have much of an interest in these things but with pottery from 630BC and some amazing historical findings I spent over 2 hours ...
