... just like being at home! Apart from the temples carved into the cliffs dating back to 400BC. We got onto a boat to travel down the river delta, it was spooky (or was to me as I was the only one who had seen Apocalypse Now). If I had heard choppers I would have been diving for cover. We had another swim (and a body surf!) at the river mouth before a beautiful lunch and a memorable visit to the thermal baths. The ritual was: step into the mud pool, extract a huge pile of ...

We were on our way by 0830 and into the old town to see a bit of it before it was closed down to traffic. name the sites stopped pottery - name of vessel lindros lunch walk about white ...

Up these stairs to the main road and across the road and very slightly to our left we found the path. It is a wide rock path but the rocks are very stable. After about .8 km we came to a sign directing us to the cave. This was a smaller but adequate path. Along this path we could here someone sawing down trees and before arriving at the cave we were met on the path by a ...

Our last breakfast. The waiter Buddy was back from his break so though we said we would see him at lunch we knew we probably would not. He would only be upset when we did not give him a tip. He was OK always a friendly welcome but his table saving antics were a bit OTT. We wandered around the town a bit, Barry got another Turkish shave, but not such a good one as the first who was too busy. We bought some Turkish delight for work and for Joanne ...

... the 4th century AD/ During that time many structures were built or modified by the Romans. A huge amphitheater was built (modified) on the preceding Greek theatre. A fountain was built in front of the amphitheater. A Roman Bath was built. In the following byzantine period a round dome-church was built.

Caunos was initially a port city but over the centuries the port silted up so that the city was no longer on the ...
