We're not usually all-inclusive resort people but it was our honeymoon so we wanted to stay somewhere nice and it seems all-inclusive is actually cheaper than not in many cases. We chose the Gran Porto Real because it was the right price and in a great location for our future travels to Cuba and the rest of Central America and South America. All in all, the resort was what we wanted. We could have easily drank ourselves into total renal failure if we wanted and the food was abundant and of a decent standard. There's so many staff and they are all really helpful, the room was really good, the pools are the perfect places to while away a honeymoon and overall we had no complaints. We paid an extra $100 or so to upgrade our 'ocean view' room to a room that actually had a proper ocean view, rather than a view of the road and a bit of ocean out of the corner of your eye - it as well worth it, as the view of the pool and the Caribbean made our stay there that much better.

... be snorkelling in. Eventually arriving at the apparent site, we were put into pairs and ordered. Only being allowed to swim with the whale shark two at a time, we watched as the first two jumped in next to two large fins protruding from the surface. With the first two back in the boat, it was our turn as we nervously awaited with our legs dangling over the edge of the boat for instructions. In military fashion they shouted 'GO GO GO - GO NOW!' and we ...
... We had booked a private en-suite. We got en-suite. As well as a 5 sleeper. The lowest bunk was our double. We confirmed that it would just be our room, no stragglers. To top it all off, the room had not been made up. Off we went exploring. Found a bench in the "central zone" got a couple if beers and watched an "acrobatics/drumming" show and admired the view if the beach. This was our time to chill out. 5 days on the beach and we would be relaxed.

Our guests arrived when the meat was already on the grill and ready to serve. All of them passed the IE and were now instructors. It was a great party. A lot of food, great fajitas, great weather...Chris was dangerous as he was serving Tequila shots all the time so it did not take long until everybody was in a good mood.
A highlight of the party was the Arielle the mermaid Piņata that we attached to the ...

We then continue our journey to the coast with a lunch stop at Selva Maya. It's a really nice buffet with lots of food options from western to Mexican cuisine. This was a cattle hacienda previously and can be used for weddings, dinners and events. Eventually this will be a hotel as well.
