First port of call - Visit Elsa and Ken who are about to become first-time parents at the end of December. We're very excited to meet our new grandchild, probably by Skype the first time, in late December. Our travels will take us to Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah, with a possible trip to India in May to celebrate Eugenie's 50th. birthday.

We got up at 6 am and had our last breakfast in Venice. This has been a wonderful trip and I am sad to see it end.
We headed for the airport at 10:30 am. No dragging our suitcase across the cobblestones this time. We had a taxi pickup our luggage at the hotel. He had a cart and moved the bags. Drive to the airport was about 20 minutes. Once ...

On the way to my parent's home in London, Ontario, we stopped so Googoo could have a lube job. I figured the van could use an oil change. We also needed a new windshield wiper blade.
Rain continued to chase us across Ontario. It was so strong, for almost an hour it slowed traffic to a crawl on the 401.

... provincial parks along the rim of Lake Superior. We drive and drive and then stop for picnics and hikes. I have never seen so many waterfalls and rivers in my life. Rainbow Falls was a special treat with pink granite rocks and wild orchids. Our little camper van is getting us surely but slowly along the way. I don't know if we will ever make it to Maine. I don’t know if the mosquitoes will eat us alive. Thank God for Deep Woods/ OFF ...

Barrie, Ontario, Canada silverbirch... choppier since the morning and now all kinds of debris was floating around, so I declined the invitation to swim. Soon, it was time for dinner. Everyone wussed out and wanted to go to a restaurant in town. Apparently they couldn't agree on what to buy at the grocery store, so they had decided this restaurant plan without my input. So of course, there was disagreement on where we would all go. Trinette: Burger Pit, Aleasha: Anywhere but ...
Hawkestone, Ontario, Canada starlagurlAfter a long 7 and a half hour flight Leaving Canada landing in Gatwick London airport I found myself alone and waiting. Excited as I was and not knowing a thing about England my first experience of British culture was not that welcoming at all to say the least. Tired, Alone, and wondering when that boy would show. Curious of this new life I had coming for me, I stepped off the coach bus and had a drunken man yell in my face...................

Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada wasagadave... and a lot more quintessential canadiana. A highlight was visiting Ken's work; he was in the trucking business and managed to persuade a driver to exhibit the interior of one of the road-train-equivalent trucks, the living quarters as such, something which neither Dave nor myself had seen before. Our last night in Orillia was spent quietly at home with all of the Fountains plus Chantelle, who very thoughtfully produced a tuque (beanie) for me, which was very ...
