Day 26 - Natural Falls State Park, OK

... today and we made it into camp by lunch time. A first for us. After lunch and a rest we head off to explore the falls. A huge hike of all of about 20 mins and we are there. Unfortunatly there is no swimming, so its a short visit and back to camp we go.

We are happlily relaxing when the camp host comes by to tell us that we are expecting ...

... is another Corp of Engineer parks on a beautiful lake. Fort Gibson Lake is in eastern Oklahoma about 180 miles from Oklahoma City. It is a large lake and there is ************e here. Thank goodness the kids are still in school! This park has nice big sites and is divided up into two campgrounds. We are out on the peninsula in the smaller campground. We like seclusion. There are no sewers here but we have water and electric so we are good.

... royals have ever stayed at any of them.

We head out from Tucumcari and stick mostly to I-40. While you may have the chance to drive on 66, there may not be anything to see....and as I said, we were being judicious with our time. And Laurie had a place that was on her "to see" list long before this trip ever started. We kept driving east until we stopped at the world famous "Cadillac Ranch"!

After filling up we then headed to Muskogee in Oklahoma which is where we will be staying overnight. We arrived at the dispersal location, which is the posse-up place for tomorrow morning (05:45 for us). Anyways, most people bomb-bursted to their respective hotels despite being given the opportunity to visit a Veteran's Hospital and meet some 'Real Heroes'. This was a moving affair and ...
