Our stay at the El Dorado Seaside Suites was simply fantastic!!!! The staff was wonderful which is what always makes the stay better. We arrived before check-in time and were exhausted from the long flight. They immediately offered us a place to change our clothing and store our luggage. This allowed us to relax on the beach with a cold drink until our room was ready. I don't think I have ever had any hotel make quick accommodations when we arrived early!!! It helped start our vacation on a positive note. During our entire stay we had the same concierge tend to all of our needs while at our room. He made sure to call us by name every time he saw us and was quick to respond if we were in need of anything. The best part was when we first arrived to our room and being able to look out our back door, sit in the hammock, and enjoy watching the waves on the beach. It gave the word "relaxation" a whole new meaning. The atmosphere was very calm and tranquil as it was an adult only resort. There was a choice of cuisine, three different genres of restaurants available and we tried each. The beach was set up for complete relaxation as lounge chairs and canopy beds were set up at a nice distance that allowed for privacy. As we relaxed on the beach drinks were brought to us as we were always catered to and never had to want for anything. The evenings were fantastic!!! Every night there was new entertainment; couples games, comedians, live music, and so on. The nightly entertainment was outdoors with the bar near, couple's swings, and padded patio furniture provided for our comfort. We loved that everything (restaurants, spa, entertainment, etc.) was available on the site and we really didn't have to leave unless we wanted to explore. When we were ready to explore Funjet had a travel station positioned outside just a few steps away. We loved it!!! We will be there again soon.

The start of day seven and almost 50% into our latest holiday, the morning came about at around half six again so despite the late night last night we are still up for our early morning stroll. Bit cloudy this morning which is a shame as we have decided to have lunch on the beach. We attempt this 15 minutes too early so have a rest on a hammock and …
Day six starts as every day has so far, far too blinking early, by 7am we are dressed ready for the pool and a morning walk. This morning we head out to see Klay T'lay and the other two restaurants Mia casa Italian and seaside market the more usual buffet style eatery. The walk was only 5 minutes and we found it straight away, following the signs …
Well, day three doesn't start particularly well. Eye gate as it is now known, has meant the day starts with a small cut to my right eye (picture one) and an ever blackening eyelid. A visit to the bathroom in the middle of the night resulted in walking into the the door, door one, eye nil. Very disappointing result all round especially for Julie as …
The trouble with traveling long haul is the time changes and zones your body has to go through, and the older you get the harder it is to acclimatise. My point is very well made this morning, despite the lack of sleep yesterday we are awake by 04:30am. Checking the approaching daylight becomes a 30 minutes ritual that eventually ends at 6:30. We …
October 2016 and our latest holiday adventure is a trip back to Mexico, and more specifically to the Rivera Maya region just outside Cancun itself. Our last two weeks of leave in 2016 and to be honest it's come at the perfect time, just as the first leaves are starting to fall off the trees at home. The mornings are starting to be dark and the …
