Simply fantastic!!!! Great place, people and service!

Our stay at the El Dorado Seaside Suites was simply fantastic!!!! The staff was wonderful which is what always makes the stay better. We arrived before check-in time and were exhausted from the long flight. They immediately offered us a place to change our clothing and store our luggage. This allowed us to relax on the beach with a cold drink until our room was ready. I don't think I have ever had any hotel make quick accommodations when we arrived early!!! It helped start our vacation on a positive note. During our entire stay we had the same concierge tend to all of our needs while at our room. He made sure to call us by name every time he saw us and was quick to respond if we were in need of anything. The best part was when we first arrived to our room and being able to look out our back door, sit in the hammock, and enjoy watching the waves on the beach. It gave the word "relaxation" a whole new meaning. The atmosphere was very calm and tranquil as it was an adult only resort. There was a choice of cuisine, three different genres of restaurants available and we tried each. The beach was set up for complete relaxation as lounge chairs and canopy beds were set up at a nice distance that allowed for privacy. As we relaxed on the beach drinks were brought to us as we were always catered to and never had to want for anything. The evenings were fantastic!!! Every night there was new entertainment; couples games, comedians, live music, and so on. The nightly entertainment was outdoors with the bar near, couple's swings, and padded patio furniture provided for our comfort. We loved that everything (restaurants, spa, entertainment, etc.) was available on the site and we really didn't have to leave unless we wanted to explore. When we were ready to explore Funjet had a travel station positioned outside just a few steps away. We loved it!!! We will be there again soon.

      ... over?

After breakfast, where we have mimosas, we stop by the store to get a comb for me and a brush for Sabrina because now that I have mentioned Friends I should say we are both being Monica Gellar: our hair is uber frizzy and uncontrolable. Sabrina's actually started poofing within minutes after we landed, and mine were acting up last night. Today, a total mess. I guess I never experienced this because I've always had a buzzed head whenever I went down ...

... say men pack light compared to women!) and head for the exit. At the door, a lady asks for our Immigration Card we filled out on the plane, then says "push the red button please", the glass panel between her and I turns green and she says I can go. WEIRD. I feel like I just answer a question correctly on some TV game show or something. After walking through a sea of counters where employees would shout "Taxi, senior? Hotel, senior? Rental car, senior?" - no gracias, no gracias, ...

Yes, I got a little bored of colonial towns, cursed every speedbump, got anaemic and pretty ill, got lost in a canyon and woke up on a urine rug surrounded by frogs, held at knifepoint and attacked, ate tongue, head and eyeball tacos, had a couple of run-ins to the police including my initial night out throwing up in the taxi, turned up to a fancy dress party where no one had heard of my ...

... the place. It does make getting around easier. We stopped at the gas station to fill up the tank since it was only a quarter tank and we didn't know how much it would take for us to get to Tulum. I got out and started pumping gas... Next thing I know, about 3 other guys showed up and helped me pump the gas. Lol. Apparently, they have attendants that do those things and I'm taking away their job... Oops! It was 498 Pesos (about $38 CAD) to fill ...
