... dont even budge. The american shakes his leg to wake him up. No response. So the guy grabs one end of the towel, and starts pulling with all his might: he might have lost the chair, but he's not giving up on the towel!! Next thing that happens is priceless: Douche #1 wakes up with the feeling his bathing suit is being pulled off him, and splashes the beer which was resting on his chest all over his face. I can't help but laugh out loud... and take that as my cue ...

... for a fiver from our hotel and we're pedalling to the Tulum ruins via the coast road. That's a 7 km trip in the heat folks. Longer, if you get lost like us. I blame the map because i'm a bloke. Breakfast and an ask of directions later we are pedalling/pushing the bikes up a bit of a hill. Dee looks like she's not seeing the funny side. We lock the bikes around a tree and get in a five minute queue. Cant help thinking these ruins ...

Tulum or not Tulum... that is the question

... not something we discover upon arriving at the Tulum ruins. We've both got slighty dodgy stomachs and not only is it ferociously hot but also pretty humid, so when we get to the entrance and find there's a 45 minute queue for tickets and very little shade, we're not exactly leaping for joy, questioning whether we should even attempt this today. The sun is blistering down even more fiercely and we're both feeling pretty faint by the time we actually get past the ticket ...
