The eastern side of the lake was even better. The town of Aix Les Bains is right on the lake, with a nice small town, and walks right along the lake - very pretty, Had a look around here for a while. But instead of riding at 110km/h you are riding at 130/140 constantly overtaking column of trucks and being overtaken by those drivers in a hurry. We have been in remote country for the last few days. Haven't seen a store, and rarely even a house since we left Les Contamines.
Our last refuge in France was de Mottets, quite a relief after the night before. Although it had been converted from a dairy farm, it had spacious, modern rest rooms, hot showers, semi-private bed room (Barbara only had to share with 3 guys this time).
