    Day 3 We left our comfy lodging and walked uphill but only for a kilometre before we then hit the snow and started going down hill. The small drifts weren't too bad to get across, but the longer ones were easier if you sort of skied/skated down. John got it sorted pretty quickly, and was down each drift in no time, but I did this sort of awkward snow plough in hiking boots, that had me out of control most of the time.     ... for about 3 kms, which was heavy going, down a mainly gravelly track/ road. We arrived at a lovely little village where there was a market. Some bought coffee, some pastries.
