... can't believe I actually got to experience it!
The first thing we saw when we got off the bus was a dog sledding team, I knew immediately that I would love it up there. The dogs were all so excited to get running and I was just holding myself back from going up and saying hi to all of them!

A white Christmas is what we ultimately left London dreaming of. The local ticket inspector in Grenoble calling it quits on our planned day of travel (naturally) and all subsequent trains being cancelled definitely challenged the dream. Not to the point that an afternoon of french sun and 5 litre red cask couldn't solve though. Winning.

... were running low. Then about 4km from the top the temperature plummeted and the rain continued in ernest. We were shivering so much our bikes were shaking! Thankfully once over the top there was a little cafe where we hid for a while drinking hot chocolate and eating ham and cheese omelettes. We made it safely back to the valley where it was glorious sunshine and we laid everything out to dry. Phew. An exhausting ...
