We left our beloved botchy field, filled up with petrol and drove around the corner to Allemont. We hunted again for gas, or some way to make it work, but no luck. Again. Not very happy! Not only with the gas, but also troubles with the fridge and 12V powerpoints. Baguette for lunch, set up the van with electricity and went for a walk. Cold and rainy this afternoon, but still able to wander through the town of Allemont. A nice quiet rest day ...
... so we could do the down hill tracks. Was heaps of fun! We went on three different lifts, the last one up to 2600m. By the end of the day we were both pooped. We went back down the mountain, got some dinner and we back to our trusty botchy camp site ...
... the life!! We cruised back down the Alpe d'huez and again turned off at corner 4 and went down via Allemont. We stopped at the lake and dipped our toes in, but nippy but enjoyable! Then home - heed mtbikes for tomorrow and got some groceries for dinner. Another sneaky shower and the caravan park around the corner then off to bed. We're pretty exhausted after all this riding - we climbed 7000m over 350kms this week :) Definitely earnt our ...
... After lunch we did some more shopping then enjoyed a coffee outside. Today was the first day that it was actually chilly, at least at 6,102 feet altitude. I was glad that I had my jacket along.

We spent the morning trying to sort out gas for the van. What a mission!! We arrived at the shop at 9am, still hadn't got it sorted when they went to their siesta, so had to sit around the shops for two hours until they came back! 3.30pm and we finally hit the road - but still no gas!!!!! ...
