... which was a pretty spot. Nearby was the Metropolitan Church of Annunciation, situated on the Kolona Harbour near the tower & lighthouse of St. Nicholas. We’ve heard several tour guides complain about what happened to sites like this one. British and German archeologists did much of the work uncovering Greek and Roman remains, then carted off the most impressive pieces to their own countries.

... to board a small boat for a cruise down to Dalyan. We thought there might have only been a few on the boat, but by the time it left at 10am it was fully loaded with Turks, Dutch, French and two Australians. We all had our tables and that was where we stayed! We sat with two lovely young Parisians and had a wonderful time dispelling some stereotypes ...

... Muslims, the government has not permitted even one mosque to be built. So no call to prayers before dawn every day, and no covered ladies.
We've visited Lindos too, midway along Rhodes coast, involving a long bus trip, then a longer walk to the top of a large stony mountain, only to find the Acropolis closed for May Day. That's Greece for you!
Next stop, after a forty minute flight with Aegean Airlines, it's the biggest Greek island, ...
