But very big and in the summer probably too crowded. Food okay, newly renovated, clean.

Class trip to Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. One week in an all inclusive Hotel was a very different way of spending my vacation. There's a local market (a lot of clothes and souvenirs) and the dunes as well as the light tower with an oasis is very nice to walk around. Many German and British tourists.

There are also many hotels so this resembles in some ways a Florida beach but with sand dunes and mountains in the background.

Saddle up and head over to Sioux City in San Agustin, just a few miles from Playa del Ingles You'll meet Doc Holiday, watch the can-can and take a drink in the saloon, at this Wild West-themed fun park. Before you hit the trail home, don't miss the live entertainment, which includes ‘cowboys' performing bank robberies and lasso stunts.

And so my interim verdict on this delightful isle is that it is an ideal holiday destination, but the roads would drive you mad after a while, so a lovely idyllic escape but not to live and work, unless you had a chauffeur. What sealed this judgement for me was that it ...
