So this morning we left Antalya of which I got to see very little. Sleeping on the bus is very exhausting and I was too tired to do the walk around the city! It was a very nice hotel though and a big room and a lovely meal with some nice local wine.
First stop today was Aspendos, where the largest best preseverved roman amphitheatre is located. It is very impressive. There has been some reconstruction and they do ...
On the move again and this time a long haul to Konya on our way to Capadoccia. We stop for lunch on the way more out of need for a loo than food but find ourselves in a pretty classy restaurant halfway down a mountain. I think it's changed a ...
... Anatalya and after more GPS misguidance, found Aspendos (Aspestos is my way of remembering it) which was an ancient Greco-Roman city. founded around 1000 BC by Greeks on the Eurymedon River. The amphitheatre has been renovated and is still used today. (More pics)
