Flying fish. They're small and move very quickly over several meters, maybe 10m. Jellyfish. White, about 1m across. Freighters, cargo ships. A very bright shooting star or possibly a satellite. But moving towards the horizon very fast. No pirates. No other cruise ships. Bugger all land. Today's events: treadmill 6.55 - 7.55, breakfast, snooze, reading in the conservatory, pizza ...

Our first dive was on the SE Plateau, a very mild current running south along the reef to plateau, dropped down to about 34M, hung around in the blue and we're rewarded with a beautiful Thresher shark gracefully swimming by. After a few minutes hanging around we started back along the reef wall and we're escorted by a very friendly Napoleon ...

        First days diving

A travel blog entry by scubanut on Oct 26, 2013

After breakfast and a dive briefing, our check dive was at Abu Dabab 3; pleasant first dive, all OK. Second was at Elphinstone; nothing much to report, not what it used to be like. Early dinner, then an 8hr rather bumpy cruise to the ...
