    Lorenz Deboben was baptized in the Evangelical Church in Mettenheim in 1849, the same church where his parents, Johannes Deboben and Elisabetha Best, married in 1842. I couldn't find any current information about this church but did find a brief town webpage:

    Have finally made the last hotel reservation for our trip!!

    This was for our auto journey through southwest Germany where many accommodations are not on the traditional booking sites. Although some had websites, they were often in German only (It's okay, Mike, a Doppelzimmer is a good thing!). Others did not have online booking, requiring a series of emails back and forth, in bad German but better English. At least ...
