Did Not Like It
Depending on what type of vacation you like, this place may or may not be for you. First off, the place is old, rooms need updating, staff is not friendly, there are only 2 restaurants that serve you and you can never get a reservation and the housekeeping staff had to be called twice to clean even though we were not in the room from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. The people that stay at this place are a lower class of people - white trashy type. I am 32 and I said to my husband, that we need multiple tatoos to fit in here. Upscale professional people should not go here.
Good Value for the Money
My husband and I just got back from a 3night/4day stay at the Breezes resort in Nassau.
Overall our stay was very good. The food we thought was excellent, especially in the 2 speciality restaurants--Pastafari and Garden of Eden (brand new restaurant open for about 2-3 months). The duck breast at Garden of Eden was especially good.
The facilities were also good. Pools were clean and maintained as well as the beach area.
The rooms were nothing spectacular--but when are they?? We didn't mind as not much time was spent in the room. Be advised that although they advertise a balcony, it is literally standing room only.
We have been to many places in the Carribean and can honestly say that in terms of friendliness of staff this had to be our worst experience. Not that anybody was rude, but just not as friendly and outgoing as one would expect. The check in process was not very pleasant. We basically got to the resort at 10:00am and were herded to the main lounge area where somebody just came and gave us our all-inclusive bracelet and took our credit card number for deposit. No welcome drinks, no welcome to Breezes--not very impressive!! Staff in the restaurants and by the pool are more friendly.
Breezes is advertised as an "adult" resort, but be advised that they have decreased the age limit of children to 14 years old. I guess due to the timing of our trip (last week in June)all the high school kids decided to get away and there were quite a few underaged kids---it sort of felt like spring break but it didn't bother us all that much.
Overall, our stay at Breezes was good. The length of our trip was perfect--any longer would have been too much. I would recommend Breezes to friends if they are looking for a no hassle quick getaway without any over the top expectations.
Me and my fiance just got back on jun 2 from breezes and this hotel i have to say is worth evey penny we paid for it just from the food perspective, wow amazing food, the pastafari restaurant was great, lots of selection but their aliitle slow with serving the food. The new restaurant they opened The Garden of Eden which is otside also wonderful and the buffet what a selection. The rooms are average but who really cares where you sit.Lots of activities and entertainment to keep you busy(check out huricanes disco it is rocking.Booze and cruise was hillarious the snorkelling is great and the staff on board is really fun. It's only 50.00us per person,it includes lunch, booze and snorkelling.
The only disadvantage was alot of of rowdy it seem to be 18 or 19 year olds, hardly any peace and quiet.
But overall great trip!
Excellent value, and lots of fun!
Went to Breezes in May with two guy friends, and we had a blast. Stayed in the hotel most of the time, with the inclusive food and drink, and the dance club/comedy show/pool/trapeze/ocean were all wonderful. Great not to have to worry about money or one's wallet the whole trip. Mostly couples and honeymooners, but a good, friendly mixed crowd. Those who are athletic will enjoy.
One warning-- Was charged $55 for one 10 minute phone call to the continental US put on my credit card. Whatever you do, use a pay phone OUTSIDE of the hotel!!! (obvious advice for most hotels, but especially for breezes!)
Decent place for the price
I read most of the reviews prior to our trip in early May & was unsure of what to think. I decided that I would go in with an open mind. I really do not have much to complain about our stay. We were there for 4 nights - which is just about the right amount of time to do what you need to do. We didn't leave the resort, except to partake in the Booze and Cruise ($50 & worth it...for 5 hours, snorkeling, private beach, lunch & drinks). The activities are the same everyday (with a few exceptions - mainly the evening entertainment). The good thing about that is if you missed something one day you can catch it the next day, the bad thing is once you've tried everything you wanted to try there is not much else to do. It is relaxing...the pools were clean (except the pool with the lounge chairs in it). There was always a place to sit. The gave you beach towels too. The beach was not very clean (a lot of sea weed and some trash). I recommend wearing shoes on the beach (or be very careful when walking). The staff was friendly & as most people mention do not accept tips. The Pastafari restaurant is very good & the portions were enormous. The cafeteria style restaurant was okay. The midnight buffet was just left overs from during the day (so not really worth it). The outdoor grill was good. They did not skimp on the alcohol in the drinks either!!! The rooms were a good size and were clean (although you know it is not "new"). The bed is HUGE!!!! The balcony is hardly worth mentioning (it literally is standing room only). The cable TV was rarely working (lots of channels listed & we normally only got the basic networks) - however, we were hardly watching TV. The room did smell a little musty when you walked in, but it was not so noticeable once you were in there, although I did feel that the room was damp (which is probably why the room smelled musty). Overall, we had a very excellent time. You can make it as active or relaxing as you like. Some of the rev
staff "forced" you to participate in activities, however there was one day where we did nothing but sit in the shade. I would probably not go back again, but only because I felt we had done everything we could there. I would recommend other people to go to Breezes though. It was relaxing & just the break we needed from our busy lives.
Good and bad
The staff was very friendly and are trained to not take tips. The entertainment staff and house band was very good. I recommend getting involved since we had more fun partaking in the scheduled events. Tokens are given with a point value which can be used for gifts. We won so many points that we really did not even need to purchase gifts to take home. The Pastafari restaurant was a delighful experience. Once we realized that this was our preferred dining method, we made reservations everyday in advance for the remainder of our stay. The self serve drink machines were a good idea in the main lounge/pool area but I only liked the mango and premixed mudslides. The strawberry and pina colada were not that good. The pina colada was really bad. You can add as much rum (gold or light) or drink them plain. The pools were nice. Beach was nice. Plenty of chairs to go around. Nice loungers. Fried fish, ceasar salad and popped corn at the outdoor pool grill was good.
Rooms needed updating and maintenance. A Lot of contruction going on right now (Roofing, an addition to the front, paving, painting etc.) Bartenders were lazy in my opinion about mixing/blending drinks. Many of the self serve drink areas were not working consistently. Many of the self serve drink areas were half working with no ice etc. or the frozen ice machines were watery on several occassions. Bartenders were very inconsistent and lazy about making the drinks properly. It took a couple of days to figure out who the good bartenders were. I remember "Judy" being one of the WORST ones. 1/2 the jets on the jaccuzzi were not working. Watersports lifeguards were not very informative and they were hanging around the non-staffed watersport jet skiers trying to sell you a ride everytime we wanted to take something that was included. Dinner buffet wasn't that great. The activities and entertainment staff didn't start things on time or consistently with the event schedule typed up each day for a few of the events that we wanted to play.
Would I recoomend it? yes if you are an experienced traveller that knows how to make the best of a cheap vacation and you got a really good discounted rate. It is for people that want to stay active all day. I'd Wait until renovations are complete. Not luxurious and relaxing by anymeans although we did find a few quiet spots.
There is a water cooler in the gym which is located near the ping pong tables that always had water in it. We kept filling our water bottles from the gym machine. This was the most consitent drink machine in the place.(HA HA)
I went on a business trip. The beaches are beautiful. The people are friendly. There are lots of activities to get involved in! A great trip for all of us!
BE VERY CAREFUL
I traveled to SuperClub breezes in FEB of 1998 Yes I said 98 - I was in bus accident on the free shuttle to the hotel - to this day 4 years later - I have not recieved the compensation promised. I was one of those people that thought it would never happen to me. They treated us decently while we were there - to keep us quiet but they were negligent once we returned. Remember they are a big shark and you are just a little fish. BE VERY CAREFUL - Take a cab with a seatbelt
Breezes rocks the house !!!
My husband and I honeymooned here in June of 2001 and absolutely fell in love with everything this dreamy place has to offer !! All inclusive was the way to go,the only extra money we brought along was for the booze cruise (we had a blast !) and for some down town shopping at the straw market. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The ocean was breathtaking, pools fabulous, and the buffet awesome, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner ! I can't forget the poolside grill. tropical music played all day long. All in all, we loved it and are returning again this feb. of 2002. ENJOY !!
I looked forward to my trip to Breezes for quite a while. I have to say it was not all that I thought it would be.
There seems to be a shortage of help in the dining rooms. The food was average but the tables were dirty
and there was no silverware on the tables. The glass table tops were being wiped off by the same dirty rag all evening.
I realize there has been some bad weather there and the country is in a bad situation right now, but it is a real shame
to see this nice resort going down the tubes.

BAHAMAS (26thJun12 - 6thJul12)
Bahamas is the most beautiful place amongst all the places I've visited till now. I would definitely call it "Heaven on Earth".
I still remember my 24hrs flight journey to reach the place. Totally exhausted but when I saw the flight over the Atlantic Ocean making it's land; I was speechless. …
... the beach where a guy got us 2 chairs. It is smoking hot outside and i am sweating instantly. After a bit, we get in the water. As we are chatting, we see what looks like chopped up green onion stalks. Upon closer look (and remembering the sign on the stairs) we realize these are baby jelly fish all around us. Not liking that much we got out, stayed on the beach a bit longer then went to the Dune restaurant ...
... our bed. When got got ashore, there were numerous people hassling us to catch their taxi or ferry or tour. We just wanted to look around the city and eventually we left them behind. There wasn't much to look at really as a lot of the shops were ...
Day 1: Jacksonville
The day finally arrived! We were packed the night before and only had to load the car up this morning and drive to JaxPort for Embarkation!
We were travelling with the Roper's (Jane, Scott, Taj and Noah) and the Davis' (Gordon, Jacinta, Liam, Mitch and Ash) with the occasional meet up with the Craig's (Jamie, Clare, Summer and Daisy). First, to get the car parked and wait, and wait and wait for the shuttle to take us the 200mtrs to the ...
... and then the Schooner Bar to watch a little of the 70's show on the Royal Promenade. Then it's to the Amber Theatre for tonight's show which is entitled The Blue Planet. Not the best show I have seen at sea but it did have its moments and after all it's included with the price of the cruise. It finishes about midnight and so we grab a quick slice of pizza at Sorrento's before going to bed.
Last full day on the ship ...
