We stopped here to see Tulum which is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city. The ruins are located on a 39 feet (12-meter) cliffs, along the east coast of the peninsula. In order to get to the ruins from the town, we picked up a local bus for the 10 minute ride and then walked to the site and around for a total of 5 miles during the afternoon.

... The wait staff couldn't have been more friendly, attentive and helpful. I couldn't believe how hard they worked to please everyone there.
For sightseeing, we went to see the dolphins, went to the Tulum ruins and went to the Grand Cenotes for snorkeling. Very peaceful there. We also went to Playa Del Carmen for shopping but bought hardly anything as it was WAY over priced. On ...
... rays we ran off to Lucy's for lunch. In the past, we have stuck with Lol-Ha for shrimp tacos and Lucy's for ice cream. The Lol-Ha tacos are always an anticipated highlight of each trip so the bar was set high. It turned out that Lucy's shrimp tacos were every bit as good if not better and at a great price (25 pesos). They were so good Chris almost forgot to breathe and ate the tacos so fast he nearly got sick. After lunch we cruised down to Xcacel to enjoy ...
Chemuyil, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico chanchemuyil... jumped waves and took photos. The weather and water conditions were simply fantastic. After getting so hot, we thought it would be a good idea to cool down at a cenote. We stopped by Cenote Caracol which is about 2 miles on a windy jungle path and it turns out that it is not well priced either. The price was $40 per person if you want to see two caves. Well, this was a first time cenote experience for us, so we weren't even sure we'd like it. We ended up heading back ...

We also saw Diane Andersons house being prepped and cleaned, Kathi Knedlhans getting set up and ready for Joe to begin his work, Bob the Builder's home with neat stairs and added shower with skylights, Claudia's amazing bedroom floor and back addition; Paige's rooftop deck and so on... Claudia's staff was hard at work with painting the inside of our house Monday and it came out just as I hoped in the ...
Chemuyil, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico chanchemuyil... bus station in Mexico City to the other eight miles away. PLENTY of time. I was all set. Packed my bags, got the housesitting family settled in and attempted to kiss the kitties farewell... All three promptly ignored me, glaring at me, and shooting guilt darts with their eyes into my heart... Found my coat, grabbed my hat, made the bus in seconds flat... My journey East began May 7, 2002 from the West coast bus station of Zihuatanejo on the ...

Tulum, Mexico heidsontour... was a pretty amazing place to camp - palm trees, crystal blue water (brakish water though...not so good for swimming). So we set up camp and headed off to find us some cenotes! We headed towards the Nohoch Nah Chich cave system...hired a snorkel and flippers, and headed off. Our first stop was Dos Ojos. AMAZING. People were actually diving from ...
Tulum, Mexico jjstreet... in and grab a nice table for four in the sand. This place really has as great view in the daytime as it does at night. I have the pancakes with fruit and yogurt. These are sinfully delicious. No syrup required. And with all this fruit, its just gotta be good for me, right C? Chris gets the crepes, which are about as big as Hula Hut's tubular tacos. Sufficiently stuffed, let's find some nice beach to nap on. Zach and ...
