The mother never sees her babies. Ever. She has no idea if they survive or not. She will come back to this beach about 3 times before she is finished laying all of her eggs.
We feel so privileged to have witnessed this act of Mother Nature. It was a marvelous way to end our time in lovely Costa Rica.

No entry fees here but they do ask to see proof that you will be leaving the country at some point. So we have had to buy a bus ticket from Costa Rica to Panama a month in advance for $40 each. Ouch.
