... a chicken bus from the border... This placed me next to a very chatty local who pointed out the 15 men who ran out from the bushes to get our bus who had just run the border from Nicaragua and who I was now surrounded by, fortunately they kept to themselves. After searching for a McDonald's that had wifi to find a place to go for a ...

... We caught a boat over the small but deep river from Tamarindo beach to Playa Grande. After an hour or so we saw a lady in the sand banks digging. So Anna being nosey went for a look. The lady was one of the biologists that work for the national park turtle foundation. She was digging out a turtle nest that had hatched a few days earlier. They do this to count the eggs, measure the nest & see if any eggs didn't hatch/ survive. The smell ...

Yami arrived and we met the owner of La Tropicale her friend Arnaud-a ...

... of Tamarindo to a couple beaches where we saw a couple mother black turtles. The black turtles lay in Costa Rica all the way from Ecuador, a 6-7 week swim over! We watched one mother start to dig her nest, which takes approx. 45 minutes. She seemed very fussy though and kept moving where she thought she wanted to be.
