      ... ended up going to a really nice restaurant called Kaya and getting some of the best food we've had here so far AND two bottles of wine! We came back to the hostel and played Jenga and cards and had a great time sharing travel stories etc. Monday was our first attempt at surfing... We rented a board for 10$ but made the mistake of surfing at 11:00 am plus the rental guy only gave us about a 6.10 (surfboard size) which is very small for beginners!! Not ...

      - went out for drinks on saturday night and 1 hour after we left, a kid (23 yrs old) was stabbed to death 2 blocks from the bar. it's pretty unusual here...the entire town was at his funeral - pretty sad.

      ... to leave the premises and head out to our next adventure listed on this shore excursion!

      In other words, our shore excursion wasn’t over yet! We still had a boat ride to take on the famous Tarcoles River which promised us fantastic views of the biggest crocodiles on earth plus many species of birds!
