bob and I get to puerto platas airport, our resort is in a city called san juan, we chose this week because bob is in university and this was his reading week. it was a pretty cool and normal vacation, we checked the place out, went out, made a couple friends, signed up for activities like encounters with a dolphin, snorckling, a ride on a …

This one comes with a brief history lesson! Wahoo!

Four sisters, the Mirabal sisters, were born into a wealthy family during the Trujillo dictatorship in the Dominican Republic (born from 1924-1935). Minerva, one of the sisters, became very involved in the anti-Trujillo revolution. She was even personally sought out by Trujillo and he made several sexual advances towards her. While women were not allowed to ...

After a week and a half in the country, it was time to go to the beach. It seemed a little ridiculous that we were on AN ISLAND and had yet to see the water. For about $8 round-trip, a bus goes right from Santiago to Sosua beach. The bus ride took about 2 hours (with a few stops) and when we first saw the water, we ...

... kom ikke før 09.45. Typisk!
Delfinene gjorde ...

    Excellent Vacation Resort

    from anonymous

Just got back from our one-week vacation. The resort has excellent facilities, friendly staff, lots of food, well-planned nigtly entertainment and daily activities. I strongly recommend this resort to every one. Only thing that I don't like is "smokers" everywhere!

    WOW!!!!!!

    from anonymous

I have only just got back from Bahia Principe 4****sup resort in San Juan, Dominican Republic. I arrived back to Gatwick airport after an 8 hr and 30 mins flight on Monday 26th August,2002. There was a large group of us that travelled over there and all 23 of us I would say had a really enjoyable holiday. Everyone was friendly and smiley. Service was excellent and I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. This is a holiday of a lifetime. As by my title you can probably tell! The food is good and if you enjoy a good english omelette make sure you try these! There was a choice between 5 restaurantes that I know of. which were all beautifully set out and service was good. We are definately going back next year. Entertainment through the day was excellent and I particuarly enjoyed the water aerobics and to see the animators in cute LYCRA shorts. Water sports I would recommend too and the staff are friendly and willing to help. If you are looking to go swimming with dolphins I would recommend to go in Feruary time as that was our plan. As the time we went we would have had to take a 45 min flight to the south of the island at a nice price!!!! We did the Outback Safari whilst we were away. One day out that was well worth the money!!! We had Carlos as our tour guide, WELL DONE CARLOS! He definately made or day. Also all other guides were very friendly. If anyone goes shout at one of them and see if they know what you are talking about. Do not miss this trip 100/100-excellent! Entertainment in the evenings consisted of dances that the children had learnt at mini club until 9.30 and then adults show. very funny and try to join in as much as you can with this one. Some of the things they think of are mad! Then the main shows at 10.00-11.00. Very good too. Afterwards everyone gets on stage for the club dance and leaves for bed or to continue the night away with partying in the resort centre of Pueblo Principe where you can continue with d until 3.00 or 4.00 in the morning or the kareoke bar until 2.00. A very action packed holiday. Also the animation team are very friendly.

    Very Nice Resort

    from anonymous

This resort is beautiful. Rooms are simple but clean. I'd bring some RAID with me to squirt the little ant like creatures that get under the door. Also take some OFF for the sand fleas at night - some people were covered and boy do they itch. They have little buses to take you

around the resort, but we didn't use them. The food is great - always something to eat and a big variety. We enjoyed all the al la carte restaurants - got to eat at each one twice and took full advantage. The main pool is huge and you can always go to the small pool for a little quieter time. Not enough shade at the pool. Swim up bar is perfect. Take a large insulated cup with you and they'll gladly fill it with your favourite drink - saves needless trips to the bar. Entertainment at night is Ok and something to do until the street dancing starts, then on to the disco - alot of Spanish music. Our only disappointment was the number of Spanish people at the resort. 95% of the guests spoke Spanish only. There was only about 10 Canadians on the resort - so they were hard to find - we should have carried a flag or something. When we go away we enjoy meeting and speaking with others and this was not possible- so though is was beautiful we wouldn't return

An Incredible 4* superior hotel, a must stay!

My partner and I visited in June 2002. The hotel provides a friendly atmosphere and the staff ensure your every whim is catered for. The rooms all have a/c and a mini bar which is stocked daily, along with a full bathroom and Satellite TV (21 channels). The resort itself has it's own 2km private beach, the sea is calm, lots of water sports to participate in, 5 restaurants, casino, hard rock cafe, caribbean disco, souvenir shops, internet cafe, 24hr doctor and pharmacy, tennis, pitch and putt, crazy golf, basketball, football (soccer) the list is endless. We went on an all inclusive package so food and drinks were continuously flowing, great fun. I'd definitely go again, I recommend you do to, enjoy!

    Fantastic

One of the best holidays because you don't need any money unless you want to shop or go to a casino. The staff are the friendliest and best teachers especially the Spanish language teacher, dance lessons, arobics and scuba lessons. Makes you want to return soon. Everyone is friendly including the other guests which exchanged email addresses. I didn't hear any complaints about the hotel or staff. You do have to remember to take a facecloth. Some hotels have them, others don't.

Beautifully laid out in well kept, stunning grounds... busy or quiet, the choise is yours! Everyone we spoke to was delighted with the hotel and anticipated returning at some point. A wonderful experience. Obviously excellent management. The staff should be appropriately rewarded for their committment and excellent service.

    The Beautiful Dominican People

    from anonymous

My husband and I spent 2 weeks at this wonderful resort December 2001. The local people who work in the resort made our stay so enjoyable. They are such warm, and happy people. They can be caught singing and dancing while they work, they are lovely. The buffet food was great, the a la carte meals good too. The rooms were clean and lovely, the maids leave hibiscus flowers all over the room. There are young dancers who work at the hotel and they are constantly trying to teach you the merengue. The weather was awesome, topless sunbathing, bar opens at 10 am, the ocean is warm and gentle for swimming too. The night life is great with people coming alive at 11 pm to dance to a live Carribbean band until 3 pm .Beware of rip off vedors on the beach. The little cars drive fast too through the paths to the condos, step back and watch out. All in all it was fabulous, two happy Canadians.

    A wonderful place to be!

Bahia Principe resort is the most spectacular home away from home. This heaven can't even be put into words, it is undescribable. I just left Bahia Principe on Saturday and I already miss it, I would go back without a doubt. I am counting down the days until I can go back. My vaction was packed full of non stop action and excitement never to be forgotten. You have got to spend your vacation at this paradise.
