... have my hands scanned or sampled or something. They scrub them and analyze what they find. Then we pass the metal detector and the machine "randomly selects" me for a bag search. Wow, I'm lucky! Boarding the ADO bus we traversed north another 200kms stopping at a few small towns on route. It was a fairly dry and dusty setting whereby at each bus stop we jumped out to stretch our legs and eyeball the local women carrying woven baskets of fresh empanadas or tortillas filled with spicy chicken, chili, guacamole, tomato and cheese. ... we decided that we were not yet ready to leave Tulum and so we decided to walk the beach in search of new digs (we couldn't justify the 5 star resort on our backpackers budget!) This didn't prove to hard a task, as two doors down we found a lovely hotel called Villa de Estrallas with friendly staff, a great beachfront restaurant (with delicious crispy octopus) and a breezy beach front room.
