... with SLO(W) puns. The town has many original 1920s buildings and interesting shops. Had lunch at the GHood Karma Restaurant - lentil soup with Baja Veggie burger, Bakti Bowl of vegetarian curry. Looking up to the mission building across the stream. I visited the mission while lunch was being prepared - service was SLO(W).

... was spectacular - thanks Mr Navman.

Late afternoon rocked up in Cambria, which is a quaint town on the edge of a pine Forrest. Some of the houses are so cute. We were trying to take sneaky photos but it's pretty hard to be discreet with Graham's camera. It feels a little like the town time forgot. Very different to manic LA so a nice change. We can hear cows from our hotel room, which probably won't be so entertaining early tomorrow morning!

We all had a nice dinner down the road and planned our trip to San Diego for ...

Of course when we got back to the car at around 10 in the pitch dark we were slightly concerned - tis not recommended to drive that road at night - it's full of twists an turns and vertical drops! ... was virtually empty with no one on it and set in really stunning surroundings with mountains as a back drop. We felt as though we had struck lucky! Whilst walking the mile back to the ranger's office to inform her of which site we had eventually chosen we realised that it would be wise to stock up on food and provisions, as we were now in a much remoter part of California than what we had been previously been and in view of us heading further north to remoter areas. Having walked a ...
