    ... this was at the passenger terminal, I assume that this is simply referring to the direction for passengers to gain passage via ships or water taxis and water buses. I have since spoken to our guide in Italy and she is not aware of the name "Verco" but confirmed her understanding of the name "Varco" as being "the way" or "passage".

    ... and after seeing many gold, silver and precious stone treasures (from the church) we saw the famous Four bronze horses. They were horses that had been stolen by Venice, than by Napoleon for France and then brought back to Venice. After that we walked across the square to the Doge's palace.
