... When we reached the end, I thought I saw huge spiders and freaked out. They turned out to be crabs climbing up the rocks from the ocean to eat at night! Too cool. When we tried to leave the beach, the entrance was locked! We thought we were stuck on the beach for the night but some nice lady who didn't speak English was also there and showed us how to leave. We saw lots of interesting sites while being driven around the canals. Transportation of goods is interesting, lots of taxis piled high with furniture, food, etc. We also saw a funeral, with the coffin in a boat being taken across the canal. ... in and the warmest and most friendly Italian woman comes excitedly out, knowing immediately who we were and telling us to put our bags down and take a break. She gave us our room key, gave us each a bottle of sparkling water and sent us up to our room for a break before returning for the last of the bags (she even carried one of them herself!).
