... cool and we ended up staying there for quiet awhile.
On Sat I took Nona and Grampy to the Park and another tour. After a really good lunch we ended up at the Reina Sofia Museum to see Picasso's Guernica and Dahli. I have to say Dahli is amazing. How he fits so many small pictures in one AMAZES me. I like Reina Sofia way better in regards to as a museum. It is not as overwhelming and I guess I just like modern art ...
... needed after 2.5 days with no washing) and safe. Go, if you are ever in Lisbon. They even make you eggs and bread or crepes with nutella (I went for the 1st as I donºt have a sweet tooth, but others looked blissful with their sugar-hit) for breakfast- now thatºs a hostel!!
I had a great wander round Lisbon, itºs a pretty place and grabbed some lunch, then on to the 3pm bus to Cercal to my first hosts. Now thatºs another story....
As much as I was happy to have Mom and Chad come visit, I was relieved that I could finally do my own thing again. Tuesday night, I met up at Doogan's place (the apartment of Matt Doenges) and met some of his friends from University of Florida that are on his program here. We pre-gamed a little bit, and decided to go to a bar in Chueca called Areía, which has a twinge of a Moroccan theme that features comfy couches and chairs as well as quality Moroccan ...

Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands martinlepelerin... have now settled in and found the metro simple and have negotiated our way round the city. Today we visited Opera, starting at the Teatro Real, which is the opera house opposite the Royal Palace. Next was a visit to the Palace, one word.........Breathtaking!! After was a trip to the gorgeous Parque Del Buen Retiro which puts Clapham Common (Darren) to shame with it´s scenery and Flora! Another mishap was when writing this, the photo´s didn ...
Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands jamhev270708... Iba a ver a José Carlos y a Charo. El piso que comparte JC en pleno Gaixample es un show en sí mismo: la decoración no puede ser más rococ ...

Madrid, Spain acota_99... the theatre that was showing "Mama Mia" was two doors down from our building. Before even checking in, we bought tickets for the same evening to see the show! When we got up to the 7th floor where MuchoMadrid was located, we were pleasantly surprised to see how nice it was. We were NOT pleasantly surprised when we tried to check in, and the lady said that she did not have a reservation for us! After making a few phone calls, she learned that we ...
Madrid, Spain jenkanz... late most nights and they aren't the top notch shops that were in Barcelona. These were more common shops like department stores. Madrid was definitely more active than Valencia. The next day Richie was departing for Paris so I was on my own. First off I went to the Campo Del Moro, a park that is next to a palace. All the parks in Madrid were not as nice as any of the parks I saw in Barcelona. I was actually quite bored walking through ...
Madrid, Spain sanderson256"You're from the United States, right ...?" A youth from Catalonia was trying to understand my situation correctly. We were on the streets of Granada, a city whose white-painted houses have gulped up a dry mountain valley in southern Spain. This Catalonian youth had thick dusty-colored dreadlocks, big-for-life eyes behind a joker's eyeglasses, and a circus smile. "... And you want to pick olives, in Spain?" He got a kick out of my job-finding mission. We laughed ...
