Today I woke up because my body decided it was no longer tired. This is very rare. After I had a shower, a cooked breakfast, a coffee, washed clothes (thanks to Tracy), loud music, and a game on a Nintedo wii. To put this in perspective, the previous morning I was chased by a tractor and ran over a perfectly flat dog. We felt like kings.
We then spent a majority of the day relaxing and drinking the beer Tracy gave us and decided to cook her dinner as ...
... seen his face, there was no emotion, there was only shock. Alex was almost sick after taking a look. I suppose, on the plus side, maggots are high in protein and we had been doing alot of cycling. Swings and roundabouts.
When we finally arrived at Tracy´s we where greeted with a crate of beer. Perfect. After we were a little drunk we went on a mission for an internet cafe. The mission ...
... water on his head to cool down Olly offered a kind gesture.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Would you like me to hose you down whilst you rub yourself" - Oliver Williams. (I would like to point out that he said this legitimately with no intention of irony.)
Highlight: We saw a shop which sold electronic products called Electrohouse
Lowlight: We slept on a beetle infested mound
... The prices are very reasonable. The most fantastic village was Mojacar. It is a white village up in the mountains and winds down into the sea. Each town has its own square and on weekends they have activities going on all the time. Please bring your own sun blocker. Even though in Spain it is labeled SP 30 it doesnt do anything and we ended up with sunburns. All in all it was worth it and we saw the Spain ...
Palomares,Vera, Garrucha, MoJacar, Andalusia, Spain must_travelI had to wean myseft away from the area, and the next day just drove a bit up the coast, past more un(der)-developed beaches at Escullos and El Playazo, and ended up staying in Las Negras, another fishing village which is sleepy by the water-front but with massive construction going on behind it.
Las Negras, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruceReturned to San Jose. Next day drove around to the town of Cabo de Gata, saw the salt-pans, went up the the "Cape", saw the incredible beach of Cabo de Gata, had great lunch there, then went around to the beach at Monsul. Eventually decided I HAD to leave!!
San Jose, Burgundy, Spain travellerbruce... edged by houses, not apartment blocks. I walked 45 minutes over to Genoveses beach which is longer, sandy, more protected. The first day I was there, I was in the company of, perhaps, another dozen people. Bliss. The water is relatively shallow, but not yet quite warm enough to swim in. For me. I've seen some hardy types, or perhaps I'm going soft! I'd booked 2 nights in the Hotel, not knowing whether I would like the place. I'm ...
San Jose, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruce... developed, so while there are plenty of small-scale apartment complexes and a few hotels they don't detract too much from the natural surroundings. One very popular site is the old Moorish village of Mojacar, perched on a hill overlooking the sea. Again, we felt lucky to be seeing it off-season as it would no doubt be full of coaches in summer. One of the problems we face on this trip of ours is getting ...
Garrucha, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands oldagetraveller... is Brazilian and divorced from Dad (who is half French and half Dutch), I'm English (and regularly confused) whilst the kids normally travel on a French passport... OK!... this time they're travelling on their Brazillian passports (you know, just to keep things simple). Hence having to go to the Brazillian consulate to certify everything in Madrid.... This has been going on for the last 2 weeks. Firstly due to Spanish beurocracy being what it is, and secondly ...
Arboleas, Spain capnconway... how my senora idolized this woman dancing on TV. She made her a Nationalistic image. My senora (Conchi) felt much more connected to the show because this woman from Andalucia was representing HER. Speaking of my senora, picture are up now of my family!!! Well, of some of them. I only have pictures of my senor, Pepe, my senora, Conchi, their granddaughter, Paula, and Paula's father (son of Conchi/Pepe), Javi. I am still working on the rest of my family ...
