... have an early lunch in Myrdal, seemed like a good plan at he time.

The train ride is as spectacular as they promised. The track rises from sea level in Flam to 866 meters in Myrdal in a meer 45 minute ride. Waterfalls at every turn, little farm hamlets, snow covered peaks all compete for the attention of tourists and their cameras. Everyone is fighting for the perfect shot. One couple took the prize for being obnoxious. They were ...

A car ferry to Flam along the Naeroyfjorden around into the Sognefjorden, which is Norway's longest fjord, and then the Aurlandsfjorden to Flam. From Flam we took the Flam Railway twisting and turning and climbing up to Myrdal on the plateau. From Myrdal we returned to Voss on a local train. You will need ...

... to say, this spike in temperature was a real treat! After the hike, we started the two hour voyage along the fjord to Lofthus where we will be for the next two days. To pass the time, I broke out my card game Scabble Slam. Not a bad way to pass the time. We arrived at the Hotel Ullensvang family owned since 1846. The composer Edvard Grieg spent many a summer here composing music. The hotel is fantastic! The beauty of the mountains and fjord are just ...
