... I known this I would not have wasted 30€ by missing the check-in for my bus in Paris. I was under the impression you just show up and get on the bus. However, on my ticket it stated you had to show up at least 30 minutes prior to check-in. We will skip the conversation on how unnecessary I think this is. Day 13: Assisi

A travel blog entry by creeky on Jul 18, 2015

Today was a relative boring one, due to the 5 1/2 hours we had to spend on the bus. The usual stops for toilets or lunch continued as normal. When we finally arrived at Assisi we drove past the Santa Maria deli Angeli, the church at which St. Francis started his order of Monks and eventually died. We drove for a few more minutes ...

Fortunately the train stopped at Tarantola so we could indulge in a Breakfast for Champions! Hey we are on holidays, so Pizza and red wine for ...

After leaving Cortona we slipped briefly out of Tuscany to visit nearby Assisi in the province of Perugia. Resting place for St Francis it was sombre to visit his tomb under the church there, however the rest of the town has been transformed into a religious tourist destination. What said it all was the carousel outside one of the churches that was adorned with religious motifs...note the Francescan monks in the background. ...

... owners have to pay so much to have a stand at the Perugia festival, that their chocolate is sold dearer. So as well as "sampling" our "fill", we bought some to take home!

The next stall they were roasting chestnuts. We both sampled them, however I found them a little bland. Maybe covered in chocolate they would be appealing!

A word about the car wash. In Italy you are not permitted to stay in your vehicle while it's being ...
