Good pool and large rooms with wifi but no tv which is wrong as although budget still more than many . Food when available was tasty but expensive. Lady owner was friendly but her French husband totallyignored us even after several attempts at saying hello etc he needs to respect guests !

After a pleasant 2 hour ferry crossing to Bohol from Cebu with Ocean Ferries we were met with the normal throng of taxi drivers and after some deft bartering i arranged transport for 200 pesos half what it should cost ! We followed the driver to our carriage which turned out to be a motorised tricycle ! Well done Derek but after 40 minutes of bumps …

... I managed to get a nipa-hut about 100m back from the beach belonging to the Bohol Divers Resort for 500 peso p/night. The Casa Nova Garden resort has single rooms for 300 peso but they are tiny and the place is a long way back from the beach. Spent a couple of days just sunbathing, swimming & chilling out as the weather is amazing – possibly too hot even. What i hadn’t banked on however was the fact that the place was going to fill ...

... entertained by local children on the banks performing traditional dance and song, all with lunch provided on the boat. Sounds quite nice really. Take that picture out of your mind and now let me paint the realism. The boat itself is a floating barge driven by a 2stroke engine and some guy in a little boat behind it. The barge had quite a low roof and was big enough to seat 30-40 people at tables around the buffet. The roof meant you couldn't really see anyone of the ...

... 120 a night, including a fairly sensational buffet breakfast. The Isis Resort here at Panglao is situated in about as idyllic a locality as the good earth can offer at a cost of $75 a night - now $77.50 with a bar fridge included! Little wonder the Philippines are being over-run with aged (says he! - let's make it aging!) Aussies.

... amber i just didn't have time to reply yet.

So that was Rowans second birthday!

Other highlights of this leg of the tour include:

      - Rowan shouting 'Halla! Halla!' anytime she moves out his sight! I think he's got a buddy there!

      - Seeing a lady wearing a burkini - literally head to toe in a waterproof burka! i didn't think they actually existed!
