Up with the lark – almost! A day largely devoted to sitting in the sun and eating! Temperatures well into the high 80s+. Highlight (!) of the day was the approach of a US Coastguard cruiser to take off a sick passenger. Later a helicopter arrived to take said passenger from the Coastguard boat to Guatanamo Bay! We were sailing past Cuba at the time. This evening the captain spoke and praised the 800 crew from 38 nationalities (largest group ...

... off, cases). A good flight; food and drink were good. In flight entertainment was poor – thank heavens for the ipod and a book to read. A lot of people, like us, returning to the Sea Princess. Eileen sat next to a couple who had a mini suite!

Arrived Montego Bay to bright sunny weather and a temperature of 34 degrees at 14.30 local ...

Diver: (digging into his pocket underwater pulls out a bunch of soaking wet bangles) Ok, den. How 'bout a bangle?
Us: No thanks, we already got one.
Diver: Ok, den. You wanna ride a jetski?
Us: No thanks, maybe another time.
Diver: Yah mon, ok den. how 'bout a smoke?
Craig: Haha, surely that will be a bit wet now?
Diver (grinning madly): Naaah mon. I got that sh** wrapped up nice and dry mon!

The bartenders did a great job of keeping everyone very happy throughout my stay. Very important to some people. No tipping please. Not accepted.



Sundowner for dinner – Good food, cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Sometimes a wait for a table though, FYI. Portions were small but ...

I spent almost a week in Negril, a long stretch of beaches along the western tip of Jamaica. Very popular with tourists. I walked the beach several times and I've been annoyed by the "farmers" and the like on a regular basis. They are sometimes aggressive. Better to walk along the road than the beach at night to/from the restaurant for obvious reasons. Nice sunsets.

... dinner. We found a great place to eat in Porti and rehashed the trip so far. After dinner we headed back to Great Huts for I final night of crazy MoBay elitism. Since the weather had been bad the manager of Great Huts said we could upgrade to the Tree House for free. The Tree House is the most remote room on the property, and its not really a Hut, it's an actual concrete structure with a hot tub, hot water, and two floors.
