At the beginning of the red-blue state divide
Well Hing Ta was pretty good but the Manager/waiter was delightful. He told us that he always enjoyed going to Philly's Chinatown better than NYC.
Today after a meager breakfast, we left for Charleston, South Carolina, arriving 4 hrs later.

Sun (at last), plantations and old syle colonial
... for a visit, and colour is coming to the gardens with camelias about to bloom and the cnfederate rose - with flowers that start white and turn a light then dark pink as their blooms mature and then fade, as if the blood of dead conferate (southern) soldiers fertilises them. Egrets and the blue Heron hover close and the swamps are nisy at times with ducks, butterflies, birds and activity. Quite a paradise without the insects and heat of summer.

Road trip!
Spent the last 2 days in Charleston! What an amazing city!! We spent most of our time in the French Quarter - took a horse and carriage ride through town, toured the Calhoun Mansion (unbelievable), walked all over town, saw the sun set at the ocean, had great ribs at Sticky Fingers and lots of good seafood! Ended our night at The Gin Joint - really interesting and fun place - got the headache this morning to prove ...
