Kho Phi Phi Don, islands and beaches

On Monday I got a ferry to Kho Phi Phi Don island. This looks like two large islands made up of large limestone cliffs joined by a strip of land. Most of the buildings are on this strip of land, however there are a few hotels dotted on remote beaches that can only be reached by a long boat taxi.

There are no cars on Phi Phi, so everything is moved around by cart or you have to get a water taxi. This meant ...

... us to Koh Lanta. The 2hr ferry ride was lovely and we got a glimpse of Maya Bay and Koh Phi Phi on the way. Mum had done well with our accommodation...a big step up from what we were used too with our own private jacuzzi on the balcony looking out to the ocean! Everyone loved Koh Lanta, particularly majestic bar where it was happy hour 24/7! Mum had booked us a day trip to Koh Rok in a private long tail boat... It was a bit choppy going over and everyone was ...

... The Karst's are amazing. It blows my mind how many rock formations there are around Krabi.

  • Chicken Island: a rock is shaped like a chicken head. We stopped here to take in some snorkelling. Massive corals were underneath us and the biggest sea urchin's I have ever seen.
  • Phra Nang Cave: The final stop and my favourite place in Thailand thus far.Granted the main beach was again crowded with tourists. We had an hour to explore, so we ...

Two and a half hours later, and the ferry finally left Phuket to start the next leg of our adventure. We started off in Koh Phi Phi; the island that never sleeps. Thailand continued to amaze us with its beauty. Arriving in Koh Phi Phi was breath taking. There were jungles and cliffs, and the clearest of waters. When we got off the ferry you would have thought that we were Brad & Angelina at the Oscar's. It just seemed like everybody wanted our attention. Mostly ...

... beautiful I have ever seen and the fish well they were equally as beautiful in an array of colours shapes and sizes with an abundance of clown fish. I just couldn't take my eyes off them as they busied themselves in the seaweed. Whilst travelling we have met the most lovely people locals and tourists alike. We met a lovely lady who did out laundry for us and seemed highly delighted to clean our dirty washing. This did make me smile especially when she ...
