      ... basic load of souvenirs. Judy Johnson, wife of Longmire author Craig Johnson, insisted I read Spirit of Steamboat a short and outstanding story and I read it in one sitting that afternoon. “Steamboat” is the name of the famous bucking horse on the Wyoming license plate since 1936… and the artwork on the nose of a B-25 Mitchell bomber from WW II. I recommend the book to everyone. More about “Steamboat” later.

      ... we had to leave. So sad.
      On our way to Buffalo, WY (our stop for the night) we were delayed by major road contraction in the mountains. But the weather was gorgeous. Warm and the winds started to lesson. We arrived in Buffalo around 7:30pm, quickly dropped off our stuff in the cabin, and headed to dinner at Virginia Restaurant at the Occidental Hotel. The food was delicious. We ...

      ... and a Cowboy Action Shoot demonstration, plus another autograph signing, Pow-wow and golf outing.

      It was fun watching so many people having fun. I think more people showed up than were initially expected, but the event personnel handled it well… and I’m sure Longmire Days will be an annual event.
