When I left off we were still in Sturgis. From the RV park there, we drove to Badlands National Park.
I'm not sure what it reminded me of, maybe a little Death Valley with some Canyon Lands mixed in. It was hitting around 100 degrees when we left and stopped at the Minuteman Missile Site. These bad boys are all over the South Dakota Plains. When the cold war wound down a number of these were deactivated and we drove out to one.

The shotgun targets were close- hard to miss- the pistol at 25 yards, and the rifle at 100 yards. If you hit your playing card, you had to use your remaining rounds on the metal targets.
