We have discovered that the best way to get information on the highlights of a town is to go to the visitors information centre and get them to give you a run down of what the "must see" things to do are. We saw five Humpback Whales along the way and had an enjoyable run with the swell downwind past the Ucluelet lighthouse at Amphitrite Point. A lot of ugly low-lying rocks bordered the channel and I’m sure a number of them have claimed many boats in the fog. ...

... all by ourselves and determined to have a good soak before the hordes arrived! We both enjoyed a HOT shower – possibly the hottest of the trip! – and a bit of time lazing in the pools before we hiked back out and rowed back to our wonderful home, the Innchanter.

Sean was ready with a fabulous breakfast – coconut encrusted French toast with fresh fruit infused with mint leaves and vanilla yogurt. SO GOOD, particularly after our ...
