A couple of things that I've been reminded of by Tim's comment about roadkill, whilst crossing the estuary bridge to east Ballina a sea eagle flew over with a bloody massive fish in its talons. The fish was still flapping around and the bird was really struggling with the weight and size of it. Not sure what happened in the end, but amazing to see. And at the shopping centre a green parrot was on the exit road ...

... surf beach, a calm sheltered swimming beach and a gorgeous kayaking River. Great pub and we can recommend a beer and burger from there at days end, listening to some good live music. this is stubby, our temp home,we nearly named him heff after hugh heffner, as he has plenty of miles on the clock but still rocking!
but we stuck with stubby as it was his original name,
he has done us well making the journey from sydney to byron, but we had our mind set on a 1970s vw kombi, we finally found one worth buying in byron, so we are moving house!

The guy was from Newcastle and was onto the bus company who were informing him "oh no it's not the Saturday timetable today so the bus is at 15:30". ... Campingplatz in Missionbeach. Echt auch zu empfehlen. Vor allem d** Chef dort ist lustig und imm** zu nem Bläuschchen offen! Am nächsten und auch schon vorletzten Tag uns**** Tour ging`s dann weit** Richtung Cairns. Auf dem Weg besuchten wir dann noch die Johnaston Krokodil-Farm in Innisfail. Echt sup** mit d** Führung. Heftig zu sehen wie schnell Krokodile sein können, wenn s um s Fressen geht! Da üb**legt man sich s mit dem einfach irgendwo im Fluss baden gehen in Queensland g**n nochmal!

... Heads. This was a real surfer's beach and was full of kite surfers that were catching some waves and sailing through the air when they got a good gust of wind. There was one guy there in a Santa suit!! We just sat there and watched them for a bit. Simon even helped one of the guys put his equipment away which involved catching the kite mid-air.
