The Linhay Crediton

We said goodbye to Joy yesterday evening which was a bit emotional. I can not wait to go myself right now. 11 Weeks and 3 days before I land in Rio. Not that I am counting!

I am yet again one step closer though: After booking the tickets, moving bedrooms, forever not trying to spend any money and Joy leaving already, I decided to tell work about my traveling plans. It was such a relief! Slowly but surely my time will come! Muahahaaa!

... quizzed him about Cambodia and their work, and left thinking that this was indeed a sign that I really had to ask for that extra holiday.

As luck would have it my boss kindly agreed to my holiday request, and although Colin is now thankfully working again, his employers also agreed to let him take unpaid leave so we can go and do our bit in Cambodia. Now we are counting the days until we set off (28 working days left for me....).

we have now just about settled in the new house and are now off again.

Looking forward to travelling and hoping that you all will follow us and keep in touch...those of you who have been to the same locations feel free to tell us some good places to go !

Nearly forgot when we were driving through Newton Abbot on the way to the camp site, i saw a sign on the front of a small cottage it read "Charles Dickens parents lived here" Now here is some homework for you, is it the Charles Dickens of "A Christmas Carol" fame? If yes did his parents really live in Newton Abbot? If not then who is the other Charles Dickens?

Well a bit behind with the blog due to no connection so here is a quick update.
We booked into Middlewick farm for a few days before going to Dad's and Mo's for a few days whilst "No Fixed Abode" was away being fitted with a tow bar.
The farm site was very quiet and relaxing, full of sweet smells of dung and pig poop!!!!
Truck dog Poppy thought it was great fun chasing the chickens!!

Left Totnes and Wayne & Julia on Friday to cross Dartmoor on our way to Lona's ancestrial home at Bideford in North Devon. Interesting trip, we found Haytor, probably the highest point on the moor. Typical local council, they put the carpark alongside the road and make your climb best part of a mile up on to the high point. Not fit enough for that caper but we made it. After that we stopped at the ...

My teenage boys were beaten up outside out family caravan by 5 boys, who followed my boys back to our caravan after a night out in the onsite club. These boys were not staying on the site but were allowed access into the club without a pass. They hung about the club looking for trouble.
My boys were jumped on causing them injuries. Luckly my niece, who was with them, managed to get away in one peice ...

... quite a bit later.
Once on the coach (a whole hour and fifteen minutes later) I fell asleep in no time. So so tired!

At the moment I am sitting in seat 70D which is the last row of seats in the plane and I will be sat here for the next 11 hours. So far Thai boxing and the Phi Phi Islands have been recommended. I hope to visit both of them.


And the adventure has begun..."

... to Crediton we took a wrong turn which meant we had to cut across on some little c and d roads which was one of the best parts of the journey to date. The quiet roads, views and houses were all lovely. Crediton was a weird cross between Devon and industrial England; to this day I have no idea what people do there. We stocked up on some pasta in the local store and cycled to a little campsite a few miles ...

Here I am heading off on my tour of Brittan and I must say apart from the early start I am extreamly excited. I'll be traveling to places like Cambridge, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bath, the Lake District, Cardif and Oxford in the comming month and learning about them as I go. Anyway I better head out the door now as I am going to be late for my bus to London. 4 hours of fun but I shouldn't complain as it only costs me one pound. Over and out, Annie
