... and stop ripping off poor, innocent backpackers like me! A lengthy flight and huge 16 hour time difference really knocked the **** out of me for the first couple of days so I just relaxed and chilled out in the hostel. I did manage to do two walking tours of the city, learning a little about the dictatorship and Chile's fight for independence from the conquistadors led by Bernardo O'Higgins. No surprise to ye when I ...

... few hundred metres but you can pick up some serious speed. As the chair lift had been turned off we had to walk the rest of the way to the bottom, but because it was a scree slope, you get down pretty fast and with little effort. We decided to visit the 'beach' at the lake. On one side it was black sand - Playa Negra and on the other, white sand, Playa Blanca.
The scenery was stunning. Huge mountains surrounding the lake with the view of volcanoes in the background. The beach was long and deep. Water ...

... back in at 3:30am having
completely forgotten where the campsite was. They couldn’t remember what it was
called either so apparently just kept asking people around town where the
campsite was, and it seems as though there are quite a few here! The ended up
in the lake at some point too, so a rowdy night all told!

Still, we have no activities planned for tomorrow, so a lazy
day to nurse our sore heads should sort us out.
