Instead we hit the main visitor centre to try to get an idea of what to do, this involved watching a film that offered no assistance whatsoever. Nearly went to the solheim cup....we passed the sign, but decided it would wind us up no end. Just come back from tea..... Should have gone the golf!! It would have been brilliant. ... snow capped mountains in the distance made it seem very seasonal..the shops were lit up and some were even open it was just so quaint and interesting.. some buildings were built in the old style and some were modern, the italian where we ate was the old wooden style with steps up to a porch area and typically American. a very nice meal with a very cold 32`F walk back to the motel...

After breakfast we set off for the spectacular mountains.. a half hour drive got us to the peak ...

... we saw some ducks and a chipmunk. Big wow. But we did hear some bugling elks somewhere out in the mountains. On the drive back we stopped to grab some river shots and out popped 5 deer. They let us take some pics and then we moved on to elk territory. Again they were far out in the field so thank GOD I have an awesome zoom. I was a bit bummed because as the sun disappeared and gave way to total darkness there were a ton of bull ...
