... and hotels are full and traffic is a little crazy. Unfortunately, there was a line to get into the park. We drove around stopping at overlooks for a little bit, then started driving up Trail Ridge Road. It wasn't as steep as I thought it would be, at least at first. Again, we stopped at overlooks and to take pictures of different things. We finally had to turn around because we needed to get back in time for ...

We had the chance to see hot air balloons float along side us as we drove past Boulder into the Rocky Mountains. Once we arrived in the park, water didn't leave our side as soon as the trail header ushered us on our way. Cascade and ...

Today is our first full day in Estes Park and we are anxious to hike! We decided to start with an easy adventure and go see the Alluvial Fan today. For those who don't know the area’s history, the Lawn Lake Dam in Rocky Mountain National Park broke on July 15, 1982 causing a major flash flood in the park and millions of dollars worth of damage in Estes Park. The Alluvial Fan is the massive path of debris left by the rushing floodwater. Part ...
