We were 3 hours away from the hotel with 60k of sea between us and mainland and 30 other travelling companions who wouldn't be into cutting their day short. ... it works. After having a three course meal at our seats, a train attendant sorted our beds for us. The seats stretched out into one and an extra bed dropped down from above the seating.
