Today we are sad to leave the Black Hills, but we have to continue West again - Plus it was raining so time to go!

Thanks to Art at Mystery Mountain for a great stay!

We first had to return our rental car and stop at the grocery to stock up our empty kitchen.

We got on the road a little before 10 and took a slight detour so that we could see Devils Tower National Monument. We stopped in the visitor center, learned how it came to be, took a ...

Today we ate breakfast at the Days Inn then began our search for a laundromat. The first one we stopped at only had 50% of their machines functioning, was dirty and no one talked to us. We decided to move on to the Suds 'n' Surf ... boy are we glad we did! It was clean, functional, friendly and it even had free wifi! Mom was able to upload all her camera photos while the laundry ran! Yay!

Then the Buffalo Bill Centre of the West, described as the Smithsonian of the West! An amazing museum for such a small town, built in 1969 and revamped in 2002. Five wings but we only managed about half.

Amused as we entered to see a notice which said "Non-concealable firearms not allowed. Please check in at ticket desk". Meaning that I could carry a pistol in ...

We were a little concerned that route 14A might be closed at some point around Lovett due to signs we had seen before we crossed the mountain. We just checked with the welcome center and they said that our road is open clear to Cody, which would be our final destination for the ...

... and beautiful. The types of housing was interesting too as it evolved over time. Dad went to the Cody Firearms Museum but I passed on that. It advertises it has the largest collection of firearms the Smithsonian has ever loaned in one location. Dad did not get through it all in the time we had left. The center closed at 6:00 ( we were there 7 hours) and only saw 2 1/2 of the 5 museums. We also got to see some raptors in the courtyard. ...
