A great first day with my new group
... where an Italian man had designed it and I found it just plainly colourful and nothing too dramatic; except for this weird looking face on the toilet wall! We also saw some beautiful landscapes like waterfalls surrounded by huge mountains which was interesting to discover... For our lunch stop me and Cara grabbed something quite light and spoke for the whole one hour and a half really getting to know each other. Our conversations ...
Dag 2: de camper
... mee. Het wordt creatief opbergen. We stoppen bij de eerste supermarkt en kopen onder andere onze eerste kiwi's :) Voor de eerste rit met de camper gaan we richting Bay of Islands, naar het dorpje Paihia. Na een rit van meer dan 4u waar we een gemiddelde van 60km per uur reden, komen we aan op onze eerste camping. Het is er zeer rustig, de campers kunnen we op ons 2 handen tellen, het hoogseizoen is duidelijk nog niet ...

... on the wharf with hundreds of seagulls squawking around us waiting for us to throw something their way. They were really good at catching bits of food while flying in the air. We should have taken a video of it. Thinking of taking a boat trip tomorrow through the hole in the rock. We might wait and see what the weather is like in the morning though because the forecast doesn't look too good at the ...
Day 2: Bay of Islands (Cape Reinga)
... and didn't want to get them wet. ************e made it to the water, and the ones who did were doing it on purpose, so in hindsight, I really should have done it. Oh, well.
At the end of the day, we stopped for fish and chips. I'm not usually a fish person, but it was actually pretty good. We were back to the hotel by about 6:45 that night, and I just stayed in and went to bed early.

Bay of Islands... Bay of lost sunglasses
... just lost my glasses to the depths of the ocean, so I was not feeling quite so charitable. In fact, one could even say I was feeling slightly murderous at that moment, and it is a good job it WAS so windy, as I calculated that if I let go of the barrier to push one of them in, I might also fall in, which would be a lot less satisfying. So instead, I just had to breathe deeply and tune them out as much as was possible.
