Decided to walk the causeway to Clearwater beach for our exercise of the day. We tend to walk the beach out there a few times a week so thought it might be fun...Tour boats and recreational boats are just heading out ...At noon when we head back to Dunedin the entire mile and a half of the causeway is backed up with people driving over to the beach...and trying to find parking...Sunday ...

... like oranges and grapefruit. They have great short films and displays worth checking out.
Oddly enough you don't see much transit activity anywhere down here...seems to be very much a car culture with everyone driving and very little carpooling it seems..
There are many restaurants around the few blocks and we chose to eat dinner at Thai Thani....Pad Thai ,spring rolls and an peppered steak stir fry filled the void! ...

... times we were stopped or creeping along at a few miles an hour for miles on end, and there appears to be no reason for it. ie accidents. Anyway we turned off the expressway onto a very minor road that lead into Tarpon Springs. It turned out to be a beaut little fishing village, and very popular as the place was crowded with tourists/visitors. We ate some excellent genuine, and cheap, greek fare at a nice restaurnt overlooking the port and had a drink then we ...

... spit ....the small islands linked together by causeways from Clearwater beach north to St. Pete's beach in the south. So many vacationers and seniors who winter here. Am sure we have met half of Minnesota residents who escape the winters north.

It's Heather again...

We headed to St. Pete Beach, Florida for 3 weeks in December. I am now ready to retire and spend the winters in Florida! (I'm even willing to work the non-winter months...) It really is the way to go. Warm weather, sunny every day, outdoor bars, nice beaches, no crowds. No snow. Ideal.
