... shot which did not work out well as there was construction and most of the area was blocked off for parking and I did not want to pay at the public lot to take one picture so we wasted some time there and then the drive up the mountain on top of it. ... closed. I was getting worried but we managed to find one restaurant that was open and had great food…Barnsider. I made several calls to hotels from here including the Hampton Inn which was around the corner but they said they were at capacity. It was so confusing how the hotels could be booked up but nothing was open. We had to take the hike up Prospect Mountain. It was almost 2 miles to the top and it was a hike straight up! It was a great hike and once at the top the views were fantastic. On a real clear day they say you can see a 100 miles. It wasn't that clear but we could see pretty good. We thought the only way up was to hike but found a big parking lot at the top.
