    ... at the Cherokee Reservation. It is very commercialised, lots of tourist shops, motels and the casino. We were dropped in downtown Asheville for dinner and went to the Wayside Diner. Finally got to hotel at 8:20pm. Saw the difference of Southern hospitality, they had complimentary cupcakes and cookies and breakfast is included down south. Still raining and thunder we have decided again to pack up camp and make for the safety of a motel with hot water and a bed .The forcast is for heavy rain , thunder and lightning and true to the prediction when we set of after the rafting we encountered 2 accidents on the road caused by aqua plaining.     ... I took a wrong turn and we never did find it. We are both really enjoying staying here with Bob, Jude and all their friends and there are just so many good roads to ride and places to see. Also Bob has arranged a trail ride on Thursday that we are keen to join in on.

    ... But for the few days after Asheville, the thoughts came back at times. I think it was just having a couple days of doing nothing, eating well and sleeping in an actual bed that did it. So even though my milage was fairly low, my morale wasn't great, and it took a couple days to work it back up.     ... so far, even though I've felt like I've been eating enough (a feat that is almost impossible on the trail). Mooch and Ahab were taking a little longer than I wanted to leave since we were planning to do some decent miles that day, so I took off before them.
