We immediately had a four-mile, 2,500-foot climb up a mountain, and since we had left the hostel around noon, it was a hot one. But right near the top, I saw my first bear. Sadly, it wasn't a great view: as I was coming up a steep ...

... will make being outdoors more enjoyable for everyone!! Tuesday April 8, Need to kill some time before arriving in Hot Springs, so going to stay at Standing Bear Hostel one more night. Really tired of staying in "towns", and after my visit in Hot Springs - I plan to keep out of towns for now on. But for now, it is either hike only 7 mile days (That would drive me nuts!), or zero here and do 10 mile days into Hot Springs - I think I can deal with 10 ...
