This weekend we headed north to New York for Tim's 3-day bike race, The Tour of the Catskills. Yesterday we arrived at our home for the weekend, the "Paint the Night Cottage" located about 15 miles from Woodstock, NY, the spot of the famous 1969 gathering celebrating peace, love & rock & roll. The owner is an artist who lives in Massachusetts and her artwork is displayed throughout the quaint domicile with various other homey touches, like the knick-knacks ...

Another sleep in and slow start. Kate, Chris and the boys stayed overnight so there were a lot of people milling about in the kitchen.
We sat by the lake with our coffees and talked. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The whole morning passed like this with a walk, a swim, a visit by other friends - Susannah Nossel and David Greenberg and their daughter Liza, and lots of conversation.
