... too cold where every body part hurt so we called it quits early. We found out that Heavenly closed early too because of the conditions. Our plan was to take Jalen to see fireworks at Heavenly village on NYE but we cut the trip short and left NYE because of the horrible weather. It is way to cold, highs of 18. ... 20am so we headed down to the depot.

We had 45 minutes till the train left so we stopped in an interesting shop and browsed a bit before continuing down to the railroad depot. We stopped on the way as we passed St. Mary’s of the Mountain to find out what time Mass was then continued on down the road.

We still got there in plenty of time to watch the men hook up the open car and the caboose to the steam engine #29. ...

... was only a drizzle for about 15 mins. A second pouring of rain came a little harder but again only lasted for a short while. We are so glad that we took the northern route because we got to see some cows (see pictures) grazing alongside the road. I went to the cemetery, well at least the gate and took a few pictures. That is a huge cemetery and well, I decided to go back to Jesse’s live music instead of hiking. J
